EVE Online Theme (NOW IN 1920x1080 AND 1366x768) by Thyself EVE Online Theme (NOW IN 1920x1080 AND 1366x768) by Thyself
This is my attempt from last year to create a rainmeter desktop based upon my favorite wallpaper (which is from the MMO video game EVE Online). I don't intend on working on it anymore unless the interest arises.

To Install
Download and install rainmeter 2.2, download the file to the right. Then double click your new .rmskin file of your choice (currently 1920x1080 and 1366x768 choices available). Done!

Many of the gauges are merely repurposed from other suites, and the respective credits for each gauge is in their code.
Among the things that I did myself is the links guage, the time guage, and the rotating rings pretty much had to be completely redone. Oh and the scanning bar things. Yeah.
So you're all free to use anything that I've made.

The time guage changes dynamically for what time of day (as inspired by my navy rotc roommate. For instance, after 12, it will no longer say "Have a good rest of the day, commander" and instead say "have a good afternoon, commander". Same for the beginning "good "X""

To change the links on the side
Just right click the link, go to "Edit Skin", find which text you want to change (for instance, METERTEXT2 for Gizmodo on mine), then put the url in quotations between the brackets. After that replace the name under the variable named "Prefix" to whatever you want in quotations.
Its much easier than it sounds, and I doubt many of you want to be going to Embry-Riddle's Student Site or use Zune =D

If the guages aren't fitting right...
This was designed for 1920x1080 desktops with the wallpaper included set at "Stretch". If there is interest for more resolutions and even more wallpapers, that might come.

If it is taking up too much CPU time...
I suggest increasing the update time of the largest rotating targeter labeled "large targeter.ini". Also, if you can, reduce its width and height. The bigger the image to rotate, the harder the CPU has to work to calculate that. For me, reducing it by about half and increasing the update time to 150 reduces the CPU usage from ~9 percent to under 3 or 4

If you have questions or suggestions...
Please ask and I'll get them answered or fixed right away! If you have a suggestion or want something added, I'll try and update the theme with it asap!

PS...
If you have any more space wallpapers... send me a link. I NEED MORE

CHANGELOG
-Included the shown Fonts in the .rmskin file
-Put all skins on desktop with fancy fade
-Included backgrounds in the .zip file
-A new selectable resolution to install

uh, i have one more thing i forgot to ask. i cant see any notes that i add. i cant even see the checkmark. all i see is a line and TO DO below that line. Other than that, everything is perfect. the best theme EVER! Job VERY well done. thank you sooooooo much.

Hmm... that is odd.  Try reloading the theme and such.  If that doesn't work, that one file may have been bugged or something.  Copy and past its .ino file (the same thing from when you edited the links from before) here and I'll have a looksies.

Also thanks a lot for the complement!  I'm sure its not the best ever!  But still, it feels pretty awesome to have so many people using this and seeing it every day on their computers.

Hmm... you know I'm really not sure what might be going on there.  It seems the checkmark and everything should all be there... but I'm not sure why it wouldn't.  I didn't make that specific gauge, so I can't really help too much more.  That's really odd...

I'll keep thinking about it and comment back if I figure anything out.  Sorry I can't help more!

Yes you can!  If you right click the links and go to "edit skin", you can then copy this and paste it in at the very bottom of the page.  The only thing you need to put in is wherever I've bolded.  If you need any additional help, just comment and I'll see what I can do!

The 1920x1080 should have an installed theme where its setup correctly with the correct co-ordinates.  All you have to do is enable the 1080p theme.

No these are the only two resolutions I was going to include. Rainmeter is easy enough to learn and modify though if you're willing. Otherwise, another fan made one based off mine using your resolution seen here: [link]

I would talk to him for more info

Oh, I see. Well, it looks freaking cool! You made one heck of a suite. It's awesome! And though I don't play EVE online, I know about it from people pestering me to start playing Dust 514 on the PS3. Maybe in January, I said. But in the meantime I'm using your skin for my desktop and working it for my 1600x900 display; adding a few things here and there trying to customize it into a HUD. My imagination just goes wild sometimes. Still a WIP, but when I'm totally finished, of course (like I always do), you'll be credited. Thanks for the reply. :D

Yeah I get why you'd wanna change it. Mine is so much visual stuff and not a lot of actual functional meters. Feel free to change as much as you'd like, just make sure I get a peek at it when you're done! ^_^

The best thing is that when I briefly played EVE, all of my ships were named after those in the Halo universe. Including the Forward Unto Dawn :D

It won't show everything and the check mark symbol won't show up either.
Here's a picture.

Do you have to have that credit text along the bottom of the wallpaper for the 1366x768 wallpaper?

Well you could get rid of it yourself (I can't because of copyright) but you'll have to reposition the gauges.

But regardless of that minor annoyance, this theme is amazing and irreplaceable. It's one of the few themes you keep on, and not replace. I love how all the data is so easily edited to my liking.

Can you create a 1600*900 version of this? The 2 included are either smaller or bigger than my screen and it all looks either at an angle or as if I am missing some of the goodness.
